First Presbyterian Church is currently searching for a new Pastor to be called by the Lord.

Guest Pastors and some Ruling Elders will continue services until the next call is found.

Linda Prothe

Administrative Assistant

Linda Prothe, Administrative Assistant to the Pastor, began her position on December 4, 2011. Linda joined the office staff after retiring on October 31, 2011, from the Osawatomie State Hospital with 42-years service. Her last position at the hospital was Administrative Specialist for the Department of Safety and Environment. She is a lifelong resident of Miami County, growing up on a farm west of Osawatomie and is a 1970 Osawatomie High School graduate. Linda earned her Associate's in General Studies Degree from Fort Scott Community College, in May of 2008. She works with congregational members assisting them with the ministry of First Presbyterian.

Dan Bruggeman

Music Director

Dan Bruggeman was our choir accompanist and pianist from August 2009 to May 2011. He left us to study in Budapest Hungary on a Fulbright scholarship. He is returning to us to keep our music going as we move forward in our journey of change. This includes taking over as organist/pianist and directing the adult choir. He is currently a D.M.A. Candidate in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, and Literature at The University of Kansas He also holds an M.M. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, and a B.M. in Piano Performance with a minor in Organ Performance.  He has played in churches in the Topeka, Ks. area as a substitute and as a pianist / accompanist in Sioux Falls, S.D. and Moorhead, MN. Please welcome Dan his wife Ellen and their daughter Eva back to our Church family.

Laurie Swicegood


Owns an accounting service based out of her home in Paola Kansas.She brings over 20 years of accounting experience and offers services in software, procedures, training, payroll, bookkeeping, and special projects.You may see Laurie in our office around the 15th and 30th of each month.

Brigitte Hampton


Brigitte is a long time resident of Osawatomie, a full time employee of the local DCF office and a member of First Presbyterian Church. She has four children and is an avid reader. Birgitte has been employed by the church since 2006.
